Teen Patti is quite simple to play, and winning at Teen Patti makes the gameplay even more interesting. But to win at the game, you need a combination of both luck and skill. With the complete knowledge of Teen Patti sequence and a few basic strategies, you can easily improve your chances of winning at Teen Patti.

So, without much ado, let’s take a look at Teen Patti sequence and Teen Patti strategies.

Teen Patti Sequence rules

The Teen Patti sequence rules are quite similar to that of poker. The only difference here is that you base your hand on 3 cards instead of 5.

When playing Teen Patti, any hand of a higher category beats any hand of a lower category.

Let’s take a look at the complete Teen Patti hands available.

Complete Teen Patti Sequence list

Trail or trio: When you get a trial in Teen Patti, it means that you have three cards of the same rank. This hand is also referred to as trio and is the highest sequence in Teen Patti.

Pure Sequence: In Teen Patti, a pure sequence is a straight flush which consists of three consecutive cards of the same suit. The best Pure Sequence you can get in Teen Patti is A-2-3 and the worst is 4-3-2.

Sequence: A Sequence is a straight hand that has three consecutive cards which are not all of the same suits. As long as the cards are in consecutive order it counts as a sequence. A-2-3 is the best sequence, then A-K-Q, K-Q-J and so on to 4-3-2. 2-A-K is not a valid sequence in Teen Patti.

Colour: Teen Patti colour sequence is when you have any three cards of the same suit. When comparing two colours, compare the highest card. If they are also equal, compare the second. If these are equal too, compare the lowest. The highest colour in Teen Patti is A-K-J and the lowest is 5-3-2.

Pair: A pair is when you have two cards of the same rank. Between two pairs, the one with the highest value is the winner. If it happens that two pairs have the same value, then the kicker’s card determines the winner. Two Aces is the best pair you can have in Teen Patti, while a pair of 2s is lowest.

High card: A high card is the hand in which the three cards are not in sequence, not all are of the same suit and there are no two cards of the same value. If two players share a common high card, then the next high card is used to determine the winner. The best high card in Teen Patti would be A-K-J of different suits and the worst is 5-3-2.

The highest sequence in Teen Patti

As mentioned earlier, a trail or trio is the highest Teen Patti sequence, but there is one trail or sequence that is better than all others. If you get it, you can be 100% sure that you’re going to win as there are no hands that can beat it.

Of course, this is three aces, the best winning sequence in Teen Patti.

How do you know which Teen Patti sequence wins if two players have the same?

Any hand of higher category beats any hand of a lower category in Teen Patti. But at times, it’s possible that you might have the same Teen Patti sequence as someone else.

In that case, what you have to take into account is how the sequence is ordered in value.

If two players have the same sequence, it comes down to who has the highest sequence.

Here are some examples to make the concept clear.

Example 1: Let’s say a player has A-A-Q sequence and the other has A-A-Q sequence. While both players have a pair of aces, the former player wins because he has a higher third card.

Example 2: Let’s assume player A has 9-8-7 sequence and player B has 8-7-6 sequence. Here, player A wins because the sequence starting with 9 has a higher value.

Some Teen Patti strategies for you

The game of Teen Patti is based on the element of chance, so sometimes you’ll get a good sequence and sometimes a bad sequence. If you’re having a bad sequence, it doesn’t mean you can’t win that game. Rather, you can employ some strategies to improve your chances of winning.

Let’s take a look at some of the best Teen Patti strategies.

Play blind in Teen Patti

If a player opts to play blind in Teen Patti, it means he hasn’t seen his cards yet. The bet placed by the player playing blind will be less than the players who have seen their cards. As a player playing blind, if you think that the players with seen cards have a weak hand, then you’ll have higher chances of winning. Obviously, this depends on luck, but you can become better at executing this strategy with practice and experience.

Prefer for sideshow option

When playing Teen Patti, you can use the sideshow option if you’ve seen your cards and the player who has bet before you has also seen the cards. If the sideshow is accepted, you and the other player will compare your hands, and the player with the lower ranking Teen Patti sequence must fold. You should only use this strategy if you’re confident enough that you have a better sequence than the last player.

Play chaal

In Teen Patti, chaal means that you’ve viewed your face-down cards before you place the bet. After seeing the cards, players can place their bet when their turn arrives. If a player thinks that he has a strong hand, then he can place his bet and even increase his bet. Playing chaal may also sometimes bluff your opponents into folding their hands.

Pack or fold

If you think that your cards are not strong enough to win, then the best thing to do is pack or fold. This will help in reducing your losses and also preserving your bankroll by not putting any money in the pot. If you decide to pack or fold in Teen Patti, it means the money you bet is forfeited.
